Prepare to lead the Roman invasion of Gaul, or defy it, on the 12th of December, with the Caesar in Gaul DLC expansion pack for Total War: Rome II.Interestingly the Caesar in Gaul campaign expansion will be entirely standalone, making it sound like you will not need to already own Rome II to be able to play it.
A welcome sight for those wishing to get value for their dollar, and see something added to the larger Grand Campaign, three new playable factions featured in the Caesar in Gaul campaign expansion will also become playable in the Rome II Grand Campaign. Meaning players will have the option of playing as the Nervii, Boii and Galatian tribes and conquering the known world outside of Gaul.
Caesar in Gaul sees the reappearence of seasons, with each turn representing two weeks, meaning that each year will encompass a total of 24 turns. While the historical battle of Alessia will also be making an appearence, with the player taking on the role of Gaius Julius Caesar. Whilst the mid-game has been revamped, with the civil war mechanics of the Rome II Grand Campaign being replaced with events such as heavy Roman intervention and Gaullish tribes joining forces in rebellion.
A Steam Store page has already been setup for the Caesar in Gaul campaign expansion and can be foundhere, where you can find several beatiful screenshots. With a couple of the screenshots already showcasing the vastness is the Caesar in Gaul campaign map.
Will you lead the Roman Republic as Gauis Julius Caesar and retrace history? Or will you rise up against Rome and unite the Gauls to keep these so-called barbarian lands free of Roman intervention?
