On Land battles, where is the move forward button :s
You know how in Shogun 2, Napoleon and Empire you had a forward and back arrows alongside the sideways tilt arrows to dictate how to move your units forward in perfect formation without having to right click in the space in front of it?>
where is this said button? :s
The great part is that Scab is apparently among such people. Yes. Greek Scab. My minion. -Stormraider

The "Movement Compass" does not feature on the UI anymore, so you will have to refer to the shortcuts. Though you can select the units you want to move and hold Left Click over one of the units selected to drag that unit or formation forwards to where you want them positioned.
Supposedly, default control scheme, the arrow keys are the hotkeys to shift units and formations forwards, sidewards, or backwards.
Not a silly question at all, I for example only found out about 4 weeks ago playing Darth Mod's Napoleon that holding Spacebar shows where your units WILL line up from your movement campaign.
Turns out this feature goes back to Rome TW and I never heard tell of its existence...

Holding space bar was useful when I wanted to see in what formation my units would stand. I found out about holding alt+click to attack with non-ranged weapons just a few months ago.

The forward button is pretty good, but is there one to rotate my lines? Often I am at an angle to the enemy approach and can't seem to rotate them without manually doing so with the mouse
Couldn't find one to rotate lines with ease. Apparently having Ctrl+Arrow Key rotate formations would be too easy. No it has to rotate each unit independent of formation, even when in group mode.
For some reason they changed, or forgot, about the system in Shogun 2. Now instead of putting units in groups to easily rotate them without worrying about messing up pre-existing rank and file, you have to drag them out to the desired rank and file no matter what, or so it seems.
Time is money, and I do not want to be spending time having to constantly re-drag my formations and the rank and file of my troops just to rotate my formations.
In short; why the heck did they change what was working well in Shogun 2 with group units, formations, and rotating them as a whole.
You can left mouse drag units around if they are in the right shape now though doesn't change the angle they are facing but its decent. Not sure it works with multiple units though.
They seems to have disabled a lot of unit control for some strange reason, theres no tight or loose formation, or guard mode which is irritating me. The lack of control on pila is also annoying, what happened to fire at will?
Calling all new people. USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION before asking a question. Thank you.

Those too are quite baffling, for it is not like Shogun or Empire\Napoleon did not have the ability to toggle Guard mode or the Tightness\Looseness of units.
Guard mode does irk me. Sometimes I need my guys to give chase, and continue the advance, not just let the enemy walk away.
Although having said that I don't feel the need to obsessively hunt down all routers like on other games. Once they're running the battles done as far as I'm concerned.
Eventually managed to find how to make groups work like they did in Shogun 2. Instead of using the G hotkey we have to use the Ctrl+G hotkey, since groups have been split in to two different sorts. There's the "G" selection group option and the more traditional "Ctrl+G" Lock Formation Group option.
