The latest 'Let's Play' video released by The Creative Assembly gives Total War fans their first look at the new Caesar In Gaul Expansion Pack in action. Dominique Starr and Joey Williams narrate the video and explain to us the new or retouched features that are to be included in the expansion. The newly reintroduced seasonal system was at the forefront, as is the new civil technology trees each of which are theme after a member of the First Triumvirate (Julius Caesar, Pompey Magnus & Marcus Crassus) but one feature that stands out is the new allied recruitment system which will also be added into the main Rome II campaign.
The allied recruitment system will allow players and AI factions to recruit units from their Client Kingdoms and Satrapies whenever they march through their territory without having to seize control of their cities. This means that players will be able to add fresh and reliable troops to their armies closer to the front lines instead of having to rely on expensive mercenaries or rotate armies back to their own territory (a tedious and time-consuming process if I do say so myself) and open up the possibility of having very unique army compositions in their campaign games (perhaps something such as Roman legionaires fighting alongside Parthian Cataphracts).
