I'll do his in summary but this if for Legendary difficulty.

As soon as you start the battle and quickly

1) Select horse archers to target Indian elephants right side of Antiochus army. Double time this and use precision shot as much as you can when it cools down. Don't worry I had my horse archers survive the entire battle. Do not take skirmish mode off.

2) Select melee mode on your African elephants and bring them forward and prepare to charge with chariots try and look for openings when the cav are frantically moving around the place. If no opening to charge them into their infantry line don't worry if they die.

3) left hand side of your army select mercenary hoplites and attack the armoured Indian elephants Keep general close and at least 2 cav units by your side you'll need to take out the Armoured Indian elephant ASAP. If the cav survives this will be the hammer when melee and pikes attack your main centre. I had full 2 cav units being the hammer to my anvil. when elephant down send your general back to the main line with the hoplites.

4) stretch out your remaining hoplites/pikeman at the front but do not put them in phalanx mode. This baits a lot of cav for a head on charge. Time this well select phalanx mode and steady abilities when you see them about to charge with diamond formation.

5) by now you should have killed their elephants and most of their cav. When your phalanx are charged by their melee units, back them up with Egyptian sword infantry.

6) Ranged units should be attacking a lot of the pikes and use quick reload as often as you can.

Other info -

I found the chariots and the elephants useless on this mission.

Its crucial that the elephants are taken out and yours early in the battle. The closer their elephants to your army is the great chance many soldiers will route and cause your African elephants to run amok. Big fan lots of poo poo if this happens.

I wish I had taken screenshots perhaps next time. It was a fast game so I had to concentrate and totally forgot.

Nice work. How long did the battle take, another 5 minute affair?

Around there 3-5 mins it was fast. Too fast for my liking at first. I had to have a couple of rematches around 6-7 I think to work it all out.
