I'm noticing it's a world away from release. In fact, it's a bit more like Rome 1. I'm also thinking hastati are not doing quite as well as they were before.

I think I'm gonna wait till the official version is released before installing. I already have a couple mods installed that alter the morale, kill rate and other attributes so that battles last 15-20 minutes and since the patch changes/updates the same files that have been modded I don't want it to make the battle mods obsolete just yet.
Definitely want to hear if the patch beta significantly improves and enhances the battles though.

Hearing great things about the combat at the moment from the "Anti-Blob" bridge. Unit cohension has apparently taken a massive step up with the Patch 3 beta. Which is more important for those units with the Formation Attack trait than Barbarians, which are meant to fight individual duels.
