No not that!
In this article you will learn how to control the monstrous beast that is the elephant. You will also learn the pros and cons of the varying types(African and War).
When the elephant was first introduced to the Romans during the Second Punic War, they ran back into their marble cities scared for their lives. Which brings us to one of the major strengths of the elephant in TWR2, they scare everything sometime routing infantry with their mere presence.
Besides any reasonable Roman fearing 7 tons of grey flesh pounding towards them. The elephant can cause tremendous damage to any unit, which, combined with the fear factor they produce, can turn a battle into any wise general's favor.
As the puny Romans soon found out, elephants didn't like pointy things being thrown or thrust into them, especially if they are on fire. Who would have thunk!? The elephant unlike a reasonable human will not run but will become enraged like a unclean German and will ignore their handlers, forcing you to put them down unless your own troops are far far away. Though if given time the elephants may calm down and become controllable again.
The noble noble elephant comes in 4 major flavors, African, African War elephant, Indian War elephant and the Armored Indian War elephant, which is not playable as of now*.
The Carthaginians and the Egyptians can recruit both varieties of the African Elephant. The war elephant is better in all ways except cost. It even has an archer which allows for a lot of carnage on the battlefield.
Currently only Pontus and Rome(in the form of auxiliaries) can recruit the Indian war elephants, though the mighty Seleucids are rumored to be released in the near future will have them. The Indian War elephant is essentially the same as the African War Elephant, but with more help.
I'm not near done but I need some sleep and wanted to show that I'm actually writing this
Obviously I'm going to add in at least two sections: the differences between the different types and how to use them in the heat of battle. Of, course screenies will come too.
EDIT: Added the comparison section. Its really late at night here and it has been an incredibly long day, so the tone has definatly changed and I feel like I was too concise so I may change it up a little.
Though looking through the Rosters Romans are definitely my favorite faction on the campaign map, though Pontus and Parthia look interesting.
