You heard that we heard that I heard that you heard that Total War: Rome II has been released during this week. You know what that means do you not? No? Well it means the time hath cometh for some multiplayer smack down between the community.

Let thy ideas run'eth wild and become the things of reality, as we attempt to do such crazy feats as:

* Play a massive 4v4 siege battle on the Carthage map
* Sack Rome as the Barbarians
* Prove who can back up their smack talking with some sword swiping
* Test people's skills at coordinating as a team
Where: The Total War: Rome II Multiplayer Lobby. Where we shall be in either (or all) on Steam, in the Steam Group's Chat, or in the Rome II Heaven chat room in-game.

When: Saturday. With a nominal official time of 12pm EST (5pm GMT+1). Though people are free to challenge each other to games earlier or later then that via Steam or the thread.

Why: What are you asking that question for? Are you some spineless milk drinker? Gather your courage for Pete's sake!
Now grab some 'eads and prepare to get smashing!

Potentially more details to follow, for the stakes are currently being raised my good fellows. Thy die hath been cast and the CA have responded to our announcement of the Forum Party on Twitter and responded to our challenge. Who said Twitter wasn't doing any good for us .

Hell I'm down to that, if I'm on at the right time that is.

Most fun I have had since Company of Heroes chaps, and I am not sure if anyone that I played that with frequents Rome II Heaven. So most fun I've had since the original Rome forum parties. A jolly good show all round!

A most dynamic array of battle types too with pitched battles, combined land and sea battles, sea battles, and some siege battles as well. The 2-vs-2 combined land and sea battle must have been the pick of the lot. Though I did thoroughly enjoy dueling Warlord Redvig in my opening 1-vs-1 battle as Pontus against his Iceni.

I'm still grinning like a loon. Great fun everyone- if you have replays then write up battle reports in this forum with a new thread for each. We'll work on a downloads system to deposit replays too.

Warlord stomped on Aftermath by Afty's own admission, but was beaten by me. I then lost horribly to Aftermath. A nice and well matched set of battles.

Scenter should also consider writing a guide on how to use elephants.

Guess I should, just wish I could do isolated tests.

Had a nice siege battle with Scipii. I had a fairly good cavalry action where I got a lot of his missile units, but I wound up losing them to his infantry bogging me down. I won after a very close battle for the walls against his remaining forces.

My favorite was the 2v2 as well. However, my battle with Warlord comes close. Hopefully his video will be excellent.

Oh god, I just played an Ambush Battle with Warlord Redvig to close things out. Damn those things are cinematic and tense as. Playing on the Carthage map his Suebi were laying ambush to my Romans. In the end the day belonged to the Romans, but only just! As my two Veteran Legionary Cohorts braved all the odds to fend off the remaining Suebi to emerge victorious.

A Pyrrhic victory to the Legions of Rome and Scipii with just my two Veteran Legionary units surviving. Considering those guys were cheaper than the Eagle, First, and Evocati Legionaries I also used these, these Veterans very much deserve further commendations.

I have a replay of the 2v2, anyone want it?
posted 09-08-13 03:39 AM EDT (US)     33 / 38
Epic night to be honest, I'll be uploading the videos through out the day, where should I put them? Oh, and Scipii, we need to do another ambush since the last one was unrecorded xD

EDIT: And I'd love a replay of that 2v2, I'll pm you my email (No spamming :P )
